LOCAL
CHEF-OF-THE-MONTH TO HIGHLIGHT FINAL
FARMERS MARKET OF THE SEASON AT THE
WESTCHESTER COUNTY CENTER
When the
final farmers market of the season gets
underway at the Westchester County
Center in White Plains on Sunday,
March 14, guest Chef Michael
Cutney from Café of Love in
Mount Kisco will treat shoppers to a
special cooking demonstration.
Having
distinguished himself in the kitchens of
Danny Meyers' Union Square Cafe and Tabla
in New York City, Michael Cutney took
over the helm at Cafe of Love in June of
2008. The farm-to-table experience at
the restaurant is showcased in Chef
Cutney’s daily relationships with local
farmers and growers, making him a
regional leader in Westchester’s
movement towards sustainable
agriculture. His skillful French
technique and passion for sophisticated
comfort food has made him one of
Westchester's leading chefs.
Beginning
at 12:30 p.m., Cutney will prepare his
special carrot soup and carmelized onion
risotto. Shoppers will be treated to
free tastes during the demonstration and
copies of his recipes will be available.
The
Farmers Market features more than 30 New
York State farmers and food producers
offering a variety of produce, meats,
cheese, baked goods and wines.
Entertainment will be provided by
singer/songwriter Peter C. "Petey Hop"
Hopkinson.
The market
runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is
free. Parking at the County Center lot
is $4. A discount parking coupon is
available at

The
Farmers Market is sponsored by
